Yordan Lekov

Yordan Lekov is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Drawing and Modeling at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has been a core faculty member since 1998 and holds a Doctorate in Art History and Fine Arts awarded in 2019.

His academic journey includes:

• 1979-1984: Secondary School of Art "II Iliya Petrov", Sofia
• 1986-1993: National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Faculty of Fine Arts, specialty sculpture
• 1998: Won competitive appointment as assistant professor in Drawing at UACEG
• 2019: Doctoral degree in Art History and Fine Arts with dissertation on "History and Development of the Discipline of Drawing at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts"

Lekov's research integrates fine arts practice with architectural pedagogy, specializing in drawing and modeling techniques. His scholarly work examines the historical evolution of drawing as a foundational discipline in architectural education, informed by his active practice as a sculptor. He maintains a significant artistic portfolio documented in photo galleries.

As a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (Sculpture Section), he contributes to Bulgaria's cultural landscape. His teaching responsibilities include advanced Drawing courses for 4th-year architecture students (8th semester), reflecting his dual expertise in artistic creation and academic instruction within the Faculty of Architecture.
