Yoonji Kim

Yoonji Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Augustana College, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in motor speech disorders, acquired cognitive-communication disorders, and aphasia.

Her research examines human vocal behaviors and speech motor control mechanisms in dysarthria associated with neurodegenerative conditions. As a licensed speech-language pathologist, she has clinical expertise in tracheostomy and ventilator management, augmentative alternative communication, and school-based practice, with particular focus on Parkinson's disease and cerebellar ataxia populations.

Dr. Kim's work bridges clinical practice and neurogenic communication disorders research, emphasizing translational applications for neurological patient populations.
