Yongsun Paik is a Professor of International Business and Management at Loyola Marymount University’s top-ranked College of Business Administration. He specializes in fostering global business leadership through experiential learning, cultural immersion, and cross-cultural collaboration. As Director of LMU’s Center for Asian Business, he focuses on East Asian economies and international business ethics. His research explores informal networks, MNC staffing strategies, and ethical decision-making across cultures. He has been honored with the 2021 Rains Award and led significant grants like the CIBE program. Paik holds a PhD in International Business from the University of Washington, emphasizing institutional frameworks and global talent management.
Education: M.A. in Latin American Studies (University of Texas at Austin); Ph.D. in International Business (University of Washington, Seattle).
Research Interests: Global workforce dynamics, cross-cultural negotiations, international joint ventures, and the impact of cultural values on business ethics. His work bridges theory and practice, advocating for transformative learning through study abroad and international internships. Recent studies address foreignness advantage in global markets, gender disparities in capital access, and SME diversification in China.
