Dr. Yonghe Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University (1998-1999) and a Ph.D. from Rice University (2004). His research focuses on wireless networks, IoT, energy efficiency in mobile systems, and AI applications. He has held roles including Assistant Professor (2004-2009) and Associate Professor (2009–present) at UTA, with prior industry experience at Texas Instruments (2001–2004).
Education: B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science (Tsinghua University), Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (Rice University). Research interests span wireless systems, energy-efficient mobile technologies, AI-driven solutions, and IoT integration. His work emphasizes practical applications like environmental monitoring, human activity recognition via WiFi signals, and privacy-preserving wireless sensing.
Key Awards: Outstanding Young Faculty Award (2008), multiple Research Excellence Awards (2007-2008). Over 150 publications in top-tier conferences/journals (e.g., IEEE Transactions, ACM Sensys). Advised numerous Ph.D./Master’s students in networking, security, and IoT.
Service: Committee roles in IEEE WoWMoM, Infocom, and other conferences. Editorial work for International Journal on Distributed Sensor Networks (2012–2018).
