Yongbing Xu

Yongbing Xu is Professor and Chair in Nanotechnology at the University of York, where he directs the Spintronics and Nanodevice Laboratory. He holds joint appointments with Nanjing University and leads the Worldwide University Network Grand Challenge Project on Spintronics. His research focuses on magnetic nanostructures, semiconductor hybrid materials, and topological insulators for spintronic applications.

Professor Xu has published over 200 refereed papers in leading journals including Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters. His work on electron microscopy characterization and nanofabrication techniques has advanced the development of energy-efficient computing devices. Current projects investigate ultrafast magnetization processes and interfacial effects in thin-film heterostructures.
