معرفی
Prof. Vlado Lazarov is a Professor in the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology at the University of York, UK. He leads research on atomic-level structural and functional characterization of nanomaterials, focusing on spintronic and electronic applications. His work combines advanced electron microscopy and theoretical methods to study interfaces, thin films, and heterostructures.
Education: BSc (St. Cyril and Methodius University, Macedonia), PhD (University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee). Previous roles include postdoctoral positions at Brookhaven National Lab and University of Oxford, followed by EPSRC/RAEng Fellowships (2005–2012).
Research Interests: Half-metallic ferromagnets for spintronics, polar oxides for catalysis/electronics, topological insulators, and advanced electron microscopy techniques. Current grants include EPSRC-funded projects on half-metallic materials and functional oxide interfaces.
Teaching: Undergraduate courses in Electron Microscopy, Experimental Lab, and Frontiers of Research. Supervises PhD students in collaboration with multiple faculty members, including projects on magnetic nanoparticles, heterostructures, and device applications.
External Activities: Board member for international conferences, invited speaker at global institutions, and program committee roles. Active in promoting functional materials research through collaborative workshops and symposia.
