Yong Hun Lim is the Deputy Head of the Department of Design & Engineering and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Product Design Futures at Bournemouth University's Faculty of Science & Technology. He coordinates the annual Festival of Design & Engineering (FoDE), a flagship event showcasing student work. His expertise lies in human-centred design, psychosocial inclusivity, and co-design methodologies, focusing on enhancing well-being through inclusive solutions for diverse populations. Lim leads research projects funded by organizations like Sainsbury’s, NIHR, and Heathrow Airport. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and serves on the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) Accreditation Panel. His work aligns with UN SDGs addressing health, education, inequality, and sustainable communities.

Research Interests: Lim’s work explores the intersection of design and psychosocial well-being, emphasizing co-design practices for aging populations, assistive technologies, and disability studies. He advocates for inclusive environments that address cognitive, emotional, and social dimensions of human experience. Recent projects include drowning prevention in Bangladesh and wearable medical technologies for diabetes management.
