Yogaambikai Paramanantham is a Lecturer at the Malaysia School of Pharmacy, Monash University, specializing in translational oncology with a focus on improving chemotherapy outcomes for cancer patients. She transitioned from clinical pharmacy practice in Malaysia to cancer research in 2016. Her work addresses cisplatin resistance mechanisms in bladder cancer through molecular pathways like miRNA regulation and cholesterol biosynthesis. She actively collaborates with international institutions and participates in initiatives aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Research interests include tumor microenvironment dynamics, biomarker identification for treatment resistance, and patient quality-of-life improvements. Recent studies explore FDFT1's role in cisplatin sensitivity using spectroscopic and metabolomic approaches. She has organized interdisciplinary workshops (e.g., ETMA Conference 2024) and served on advisory panels like Chevening Alumni Malaysia.
