Yoana Tchoukleva

Yoana Tchoukleva is a Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and an attorney dedicated to community-led justice transformation. She leads Project Zero at Impact Justice, a groundbreaking initiative reducing recidivism, homelessness, and unemployment among formerly incarcerated individuals in San Francisco.

Her educational qualifications include a Juris Doctorate from UC Berkeley School of Law (2014) and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Chicago (2010).

Her professional focus centers on systemic justice reform through:

With over a decade of experience, she has served as Assistant District Attorney in San Francisco expanding Restorative Justice Diversion programs, drafted landmark implicit bias legislation (AB 241/242), clerked for Federal Judge Thelton E. Henderson, and worked on civil rights cases at the ACLU. She additionally serves as Vice Chair of Oakland's Public Safety Oversight Commission and an elected delegate to the California Democratic Party.
