Yizhao Yang is a Professor in the Department of Planning, Public Policy and Management (PPPM) at the University of Oregon's College of Design. As Sustainable Cities and Landscape (SCL) Hub Academy Faculty Lead, their research examines the interplay between "Place, Policy, and People" in sustainable urban development.

Recent publications analyze walkability metrics during pandemics, transportation's role in neighborhood livability, Beijing's Olympic Forest Park, urban sprawl in China, and children's mental health impacts from housing conditions.
