Anne Brown is an Associate Professor at the University of Oregon's School of Planning, Public Policy and Management, where she serves as Research Director for the Urbanism Next Center and Director of the Master of Community and Regional Planning (MCRP) program. Her work bridges academic research with practical urban policy applications, focusing on transportation equity and innovative mobility solutions across North American cities.
Her research interests center on transportation equity, shared mobility, and travel behavior, with specific expertise in ride-hailing discrimination, micromobility policy, transit fare structures, and the distinction between car-free versus car-less households. Brown employs rigorous empirical methods including audit studies, spatial analysis, and behavioral surveys to examine how transportation systems impact marginalized communities.
Analysis of her publication record reveals consistent focus on equity metrics in emerging mobility systems, with growing emphasis on micromobility integration and regulatory frameworks since 2020. Her work demonstrates methodological diversity spanning quantitative analysis of large datasets, qualitative community engagement, and policy implementation studies.
