معرفی
Dr Ying Ying Wong is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Biomedicine under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She leads the Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) immunogenomics research within the Molecular Immunology research group, focusing on genomic and bioinformatics approaches to understand T1D pathogenesis. Her work integrates multi-omics data and 3D genomic architecture analysis, supported by grants from JDRF Australia and Breakthrough T1D.
Her research tracks disease trajectories in the ENDIA cohort, identifying genetic and environmental drivers of T1D. She employs cutting-edge techniques like ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, and Hi-C to uncover regulatory gene interactions. Key areas of interest include immune system dysfunction, beta-cell destruction mechanisms, and early biomarkers of autoimmunity.
Dr Wong has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2024 Breakthrough T1D International Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her studies bridge basic science and clinical applications, prioritizing gene targets for future therapies. She collaborates broadly in multi-center studies, advancing understanding of T1D’s genetic and epigenetic underpinnings.
