معرفی
Dr. Kate Dredge is a Research Fellow at the School of Biomedicine, University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She joined in 2023 to help establish the Development and Epigenetics Laboratory at SAiGENCI and the Adelaide Centre for Epigenetics (ACE). Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of gene expression, post-transcriptional regulation, and epigenetic remodelling in development and disease.
- PhD: Rockefeller University (New York), specializing in neuron-specific alternative splicing of pre-mRNA
- Postdoctoral work in Adelaide on microRNA roles in cancer metastasis and circRNA regulation
Her current work uses stem cells and multi-omics approaches (ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq, RNA-Seq) to study epigenetic changes during cell differentiation. Key interests include enhancer activation/decommissioning and their impact on cell fate decisions. This research bridges normal development and disease mechanisms like cancer progression.
Her publications span RNA biology, cancer biology, and developmental genetics, emphasizing translational and regulatory mechanisms. Collaborations with Dr. Adrienne Sullivan underscore her role in building interdisciplinary research teams.
