Dr Ying Miao is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics at Aston University, Birmingham, UK. Her research focuses on the intersection of inequality, identity, and sustainable development, with a strong emphasis on comparative analysis between China and Western nations. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2015).
Her current funded projects include the EPSRC-NERC VTTESS initiative (2021-2024), examining socioeconomic factors influencing sustainable heating adoption in the UK and Europe, and the Horizon-RISE H2020 INTAKE project (2022-2026), addressing geopolitical challenges in material sourcing for energy technologies. She collaborates with institutions like the University of Nottingham and has contributed to policy discussions on energy equity and decarbonization.
