Ying Johnson

Dr. Ying Johnson is an Associate Professor in Finance & Real Estate at the Mitchell College of Business, University of South Alabama. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance and dual Master's degrees in Statistics and City & Regional Planning from the University of Memphis.

Her research focuses on Corporate Finance, Financial Market Microstructure, and Real Estate Economics, with specialized expertise in GIS applications for real estate analysis and school evaluation metrics. She has secured multiple research grants and received two Best Paper Awards.

Recent publications examine foreclosure impacts on rental markets, neighborhood blight valuation, greenway property effects, and governance influences on liquidity creation. Her work appears in journals like Journal of Banking & Finance and Journal of Real Estate Research.
