Ken Johnson

Dr. Ken Johnson is the Christie Kirkland Walker Chair of Real Estate and Professor of Finance at the University of Mississippi's School of Business Administration. He founded the Ole Miss Real Estate Initiative (OMREI) to recruit talent and provide market information. His research covers housing indices, brokerage, transactions, and investment.

Dr. Johnson developed influential indices including the Beracha and Johnson Top 100 U.S. Housing Markets, Waller-Weeks-Johnson Rental Index, and Price-to-Rent Ratios. Awarded the Richard Ratcliff Award for innovative research, he frequently contributes to national media including The New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

Prior to his academic career, he had extensive experience in real estate brokerage specializing in lender-owned properties. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alabama and has published in Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and other leading journals.
