Yin Yang

Yin Yang is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication at Florida State University. Her research examines media effects, health communication, and environmental communication, particularly focusing on narrative persuasion and emotions in contexts such as menstrual health, mental health, health inequities, and climate justice.

Research Interests

Dr. Yang’s work explores how media messages shape beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors through:

• Media Effects: Narrative persuasion, emotional responses to media
• Health Communication: Women’s health, stigma in health discourse, health disparities
• Environmental Communication: Climate justice, public engagement with environmental issues

Grants & Teaching

Her research has been supported by the Organization for Feminist Research on Gender and Communication and the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communications. Dr. Yang teaches courses in communication research methods and social marketing.
