Yimin Huang is an Associate Professor in Marketing and Associate Dean (Curriculum and Learning, Pre-Experience) at Macquarie Business School, Macquarie University. She holds affiliations with the Centre for Workforce Futures and the Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence. Her research focuses on business relationships and networks, consumer vulnerability, luxury branding, and cross-cultural studies. Huang earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fudan University (China) and a PhD in Marketing from the University of New South Wales (Australia).
Before joining Macquarie, she worked as a Lecturer in Marketing at Fudan University and UNSW. She has also held senior roles in education administration, including Director of International Affairs at Fudan's Faculty of Business and Executive Director of a joint Fudan-Hamburg University program. Her professional experience extends to consulting, media, and market research sectors.
Her research projects include studies on trusted data-driven economies, China datasets analysis, and consumer behavior during crises. Notable collaborations involve cross-cultural negotiation dynamics and consumer well-being in China. Huang has contributed to high-impact journals like Industrial Marketing Management and Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services.
Her academic contributions span over 30 publications and include media commentary on topics like luxury resale markets and consumer behavior trends. Huang's work bridges theoretical insights with practical applications in marketing strategy and international business.
