Yida An is a Project Instructor at the Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin. He holds an Artist Diploma from Butler School of Music (studying with Brian Lewis), a Master of Music from Bard College Conservatory of Music (under Gil Shaham and Adele Anthony), and a Bachelor of Music from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing (under Xie Haoming).
