William Caballero is the Associate Teaching Professor of Horn at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music and has served as Principal Horn of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for 31 years under Maestros Lorin Maazel, Marris Jansons, and Manfred Honeck. His career includes prominent roles with the Houston Symphony, Boston Symphony, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra, alongside guest performances with leading ensembles worldwide.
Education: Graduated from New England Conservatory studying under former Boston Symphony members Richard Mackey and Thomas Newell. Teaching roles include adjunct positions at Indiana University Bloomington, Rice University, and Duquesne University. He developed an online horn curriculum for ArtistWorks.com and has presented masterclasses globally at institutions like Northwestern University and Curtis Institute of Music.
Research/Performance Focus: Specializes in horn performance excellence, chamber music collaboration, and orchestral repertoire interpretation.
