معرفی
Dr. Yi Wang serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine and as a Scientist at the Radiation Biology and Health Branch. His research integrates radiation biology with cancer immunotherapy to develop novel treatment approaches.
Education:
- Bachelor of Medicine (M.D. Equivalent), Tianjin Medical University
- Ph.D., University of Alberta
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Toronto
Dr. Wang's laboratory investigates low-dose radiation effects on cancer development, focusing on how sub-therapeutic radiation doses stimulate immune responses. His work bridges biodosimetry biomarker discovery and immune checkpoint therapy combinations, challenging conventional views that all radiation suppresses immunity. The research demonstrates that low-dose radiation can enhance cancer treatment efficacy by activating immune pathways, offering new strategies for radiation oncology.
His publication record shows consistent contributions to molecular oncology since 2009, with high-impact work in Nature Medicine and PNAS exploring hypoxia pathways and EGFR signaling. The research trajectory reveals a progression from fundamental molecular mechanisms toward translational radiation therapy applications.
Based at Room 212, Building 513, 286 Plant Rd, Chalk River, ON K0J 1J0, Dr. Wang actively recruits postdoctoral fellows and graduate students interested in radiation biology. His work at the CNL Radiation Biology Branch provides critical infrastructure for studying radiation effects in controlled environments.
