Yi Huang

Dr. Yi Huang is an Associate Professor in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering at Bournemouth University. Her research focuses on deformation mechanisms in advanced materials for aerospace, automotive, and biomedical applications.

She investigates microstructure-property relationships in ultrafine-grained materials processed by severe plastic deformation techniques like high-pressure torsion. Her work has been funded by US and European agencies, resulting in over 190 publications on material design for extreme environments.

She collaborates internationally and contributes to sustainable materials development aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals for industry and responsible consumption.
