Dr. Yeseul Nam is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), joining the department in 2022. Her research focuses on cross-cultural differences, racial and socioeconomic disparities, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as pedagogy development and emerging adulthood. She teaches courses including Intro to Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, and Apprenticeship.
Dr. Nam holds a Ph.D. from a university in Utah and has conducted extensive research on topics such as cultural variability in decision-making frameworks, social class influences on moral values, and emotion regulation across socioeconomic statuses. Her recent work includes a 2024 symposium on college student success factors and studies on women's experiences in STEM doctoral programs.
Her academic contributions span presentations at conferences like the Southwestern Psychological Association and peer-reviewed publications exploring multiracial identity representation and cultural differences in group membership perception. She emphasizes culturally responsive pedagogy in her teaching and maintains active research collaborations with colleagues in diverse fields.
