Yazan Madanat

Yazan Madanat, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, holding the Eugene P. Frenkel, M.D. Scholar in Clinical Medicine title. He specializes in hematology and oncology, with a focus on myeloid malignancies, including myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), MDS/MPN overlap syndromes, and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). His research explores molecular and genomic drivers of disease and novel therapeutic approaches. Dr. Madanat earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan, completed residency at Cleveland Clinic, and fellowship in hematology/oncology at Cleveland Clinic, focusing clinically and research-wise on myeloid malignancies.

Professional affiliations include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and American College of Physicians. He has received multiple awards, including Abstract Achievement Awards from ASH (2017-2018) and an Honorable Distinction from the Society of Hematologic Oncology (2018). His work includes numerous academic publications and book chapters on myeloid malignancies and leukemia treatment. He joined UT Southwestern’s faculty in 2019.
