Amer Zeidan

Dr. Amer Zeidan is a Professor of Internal Medicine (Hematology) at Yale School of Medicine and holds several leadership positions at Yale Cancer Center, including Chief of the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Director of Early Therapeutics Research. He joined Yale in 2014 after completing his Hematology/Oncology fellowship and MHS degree at Johns Hopkins University.

His research focuses on developing novel therapies for myeloid malignancies, with particular expertise in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Dr. Zeidan specializes in:

• Targeted therapies and immunotherapies
• Clinical trial design for blood cancers
• Immune checkpoint inhibition mechanisms

Dr. Zeidan has contributed to pivotal clinical trials leading to drug approvals and has published extensively in hematology/oncology. His 360+ publications demonstrate consistent focus on MDS/AML therapeutics, immunotherapy applications, and clinical trial methodologies across hematologic malignancies.

He leads the Leukemia and Myeloid Malignancies Clinical Research Team, overseeing numerous clinical trials and mentoring junior researchers. Dr. Zeidan also founded the International Consortium for MDS (icMDS), promoting global collaboration in classification and treatment standards.
