Yayu Feng is Assistant Professor of Emerging Media in the College of Arts and Sciences at University of St. Thomas. Her research explores media ethics theory, journalism norms, Confucian philosophy, and moral psychology within digital environments.
She holds a PhD from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, MS from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, and BA from Beijing Language and Cultural University. Her courses examine ethical frameworks for journalism and digital media, with recent publications focusing on Confucian approaches to media ethics and social platform design impacts.
Research integrates Western moral theories with Eastern philosophical traditions to address contemporary media challenges. Current investigations include qualitative studies of journalistic decision-making and ethical responsibilities in technology infrastructures.
