Yatiel Owens is a Lecturer and Director of Distributed Learning in the Department of Social Work at Cal Poly Humboldt. He holds an MSW from New Mexico Highlands University (2000) and a BA in Social Work from Humboldt State University. With 20+ years of experience, his career spans clinical roles in community mental health, juvenile justice, and trauma-informed care. Owens focuses on social justice, anti-racism, and youth development. He currently oversees remote learning initiatives while maintaining clinical expertise.
