Suzanne Pasztor is a Professor in the History Department at California Polytechnic State University, Humboldt (Cal Poly Humboldt). She joined the faculty in 2005 after previously serving in the History Department and School of International Studies at the University of the Pacific. Her teaching focuses on Latin American history, historical methods, and regional studies, including courses such as Colonial Latin American History, Modern Latin America, and History of Mexico and Brazil. She emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, incorporating film and gender studies into her curriculum.
Her research interests include colonial and modern Latin American history, with a focus on Mexico, Brazil, and Central America. She actively engages with regional historical narratives and pedagogical innovation. Pasztor is also an advocate for experiential learning and outdoor activities, highlighting her connection to Humboldt’s coastal environment.
