Yasuhiro Okazawa is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University. His research bridges the history of science and technology with media theory, focusing on how human sciences and their inscription devices historically shaped societal understanding and interaction.
- PhD in History from the University of Cambridge (thesis on early statistics in Victorian Britain).
- Current project: 'The Science of Distraction' examining televisual technologies in Japan (1970–2000) and their ties to applied human sciences like ergonomics.
