Dr. Yasar Levent Kocaga is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Sy Syms School of Business, Yeshiva University. He holds a PhD from the University of Southern California (2010), and BS/MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University (2002/2004). His research focuses on stochastic modeling and optimization of manufacturing/service systems, with applications in pricing, revenue management, inventory, and service operations. He explores the operations-marketing interface, particularly in dynamic admission controls, staffing strategies under uncertainty, and pricing policies. His work spans queueing systems, supply chain management, and large-scale service systems.
Key research themes include optimal staffing for service systems with uncertain demand, pricing strategies based on customer valuations and waiting costs, and inventory management with lead time constraints. His articles analyze topics like free trial impacts, call center co-sourcing, and dynamic control of service systems. Dr. Kocaga’s contributions address real-world challenges in operations management through rigorous mathematical modeling and analytical frameworks. His offices are located at both Wilf and Beren campuses of Yeshiva University.
