Yanping Zhang

Dr. Yanping Zhang is a Professor at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine in the Department of Radiation Oncology and a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her research focuses on the Mdm2-p53 tumor suppression pathway, the ribosomal protein-Mdm2-p53 signaling axis, and the role of mitochondrial protein p32 in cancer biology. She investigates how these pathways regulate genomic integrity, energy metabolism, and apoptosis to prevent oncogenic transformation.
