Yannis Dimitrakakis

Yannis Dimitrakakis is an Associate Professor of Modern Greek Literature at the Department of Philology, University of Crete. His academic work focuses on twentieth-century prose, modern Greek criticism, and the reception of French literary works and critical concepts in Greece. He has extensively studied the questioning of modernity in interwar and postwar intellectual contexts.

His doctoral thesis, Aspects de la subjectivité dans l'œuvre romanesque de Nikos-Gabriel Pentzikis (2001), examines subjectivity in the novels of N.G. Pentzikis. He also explores connections between Greek and French literary traditions.
