Yannis A. Antoniadis is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Crete, where he has taught and conducted research for decades. He is the Editor of the JP Journal of Algebra, Number Theory and Applications and has authored or co-authored multiple books, including Representation Theory of Finite Groups (1996), Elliptic Curves (1999), and Algebraic Number Theory (2021). His teaching portfolio includes advanced courses in Algebra, Number Theory, Cryptography, and Coding Theory.
- Research Interests: Algebraic Geometry, Number Theory, Cryptography, Coding Theory, Elliptic Curves, and Finite Fields.
Academic Contributions: He has supervised numerous PhD and Master’s theses on topics ranging from Galois Theory to the Mordell-Weil Theorem, with students including Aristides Kontogeorgis (PhD 1999), George Silligardos (PhD 2000), and Evangelia Kartsaki (2022). His courses, such as Information and Coding Theory and Algebraic Geometry, have been foundational for graduate studies in mathematics and computer science.
