معرفی
Yannick Huot is a Full Professor in the Department of Applied Geomatics at the University of Sherbrooke's Faculty of Engineering. He directs the NSERC-funded LakePulse research network and is a member of CARTEL (Centre d'applications et de recherche en télé-détection), specializing in aquatic remote sensing applications.
His research spans:
- Phytoplankton ecophysiology and environmental interactions
- Ocean optics and remote sensing methodologies
- Limnological applications for freshwater systems
- Integrated lake monitoring through satellite and field observations
Professor Huot's work bridges marine and freshwater science, utilizing field measurements, laboratory experiments, and numerical modeling to advance understanding of aquatic ecosystems. His leadership in LakePulse establishes Canada-wide frameworks for lake health assessment using cutting-edge remote sensing technologies.
As Director of LakePulse, he oversees a major national research initiative funded by NSERC, coordinating multi-institutional efforts in lake monitoring. His CARTEL affiliation provides access to advanced remote sensing infrastructure and expertise, supporting both fundamental research and practical environmental applications.
Professor Huot actively contributes to developing remote sensing methodologies for aquatic environments, with particular emphasis on translating oceanographic techniques to freshwater systems. His work supports critical environmental monitoring needs through innovative applications of geospatial technologies.
