Yaniv Feller is an Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies at the University of Florida, holding the Jeremy Zwelling Chair. Previously, he served as curator of Jewish religion at the Jewish Museum Berlin (2015–2017) before joining Wesleyan University in 2017. His work bridges modern Jewish thought and museum studies, focusing on intellectual history, religious philosophy, and curatorial theory.
Research interests include German-Jewish intellectual history, post-secular citizenship frameworks, and the intersection of art/museums with religious identity. He has written extensively on Leo Baeck, David Novak's covenantal theology, and museum curation ethics. His 2023 monograph The Jewish Imperial Imagination received the Jordan Schnitzer First Book Award, supported by an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship.
Key contributions include co-editing Covenantal Thinking: Essays on David Novak (2024) and analyzing Jewish museum practices in works like Oy Tannenbaum (2019). His recent scholarship explores post-secular citizenship through British Museum studies and avant-garde Jewish art curation.
Awarded grants include the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship. Active in academic publishing across journals like Comparative Studies in Society and History and New German Critique. Current research continues examining intersections of Jewish thought, museum ethics, and postcolonial curatorial practice.
