Yanchao Zhang is a Professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University, where he directs the Cyber & Network Security Group (CNSG) and serves as PI/Director of the DoD Center of Excellence in Future Generation Wireless Technology. His research focuses on cybersecurity and privacy in networked systems with emphasis on AI/ML-powered wireless systems, FutureG networks, IoT, and mobile health applications.

Research Focus: Dr. Zhang's work spans cutting-edge domains including dynamic spectrum sharing, mobile crowdsourcing, wearable computing, and wireless systems for accessibility. His group develops security solutions for next-generation networks using AI/ML techniques, with applications in healthcare, smart cities, and defense technologies.

- Editorial board member for multiple IEEE journals including Transactions on Mobile Computing and Transactions on Networking
Leadership & Service: Chaired IEEE INFOCOM 2023 and multiple NSF/ARO workshops on wireless security. Leads over $3M in active grants from NSF, DoD and ARO. Supervised PhD graduates now holding faculty positions at institutions including University of Delaware, UT Arlington, and UMASS Lowell.
Research Infrastructure: Directs the Cyber & Network Security Group (CNSG) with laboratories in Goldwater Center. The DoD Center of Excellence partners with Ohio State University to advance FutureG wireless technologies.
