Dr. Yan (Mia) Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Akron's College of Engineering and Polymer Science. She holds a part-time faculty appointment. Her research focuses on cybersecurity, privacy in mobile/networked systems, IoT, AI/ML-driven wireless systems, mobile sensing, and spectrum sharing.

She actively reviews for conferences like ACM WiSec, IEEE ICDCS, and journals like IEEE Internet of Things. She also served on the TPC for the 2023 IEEE INFOCOM poster session.
