Yana Nanovska is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth's School of Architecture, Art and Design within the Faculty of Creative & Cultural Industries. As a graduate of the same institution (BA(Hons) and MArch), she contributes to architectural education and practice through teaching, research, and professional engagement.

Her research focuses on waste reduction and sustainable repurposing of construction materials, addressing design practices, legislation, and material longevity. She also explores pedagogy through Authentic and High Impact Assessments, applying Active Blended Learning and Constructivist approaches to empower student agency.
Professionally, she has worked on award-winning heritage projects like the Imperial War Museum galleries and Natural History Museum conservation. As a trustee of Wymering Manor, she advocates for architectural heritage preservation. Awards include:

Ms Nanovska teaches Technology & Environment (BA3/DA4), Design & Professional Practice (DA2), and engages in admissions, recruitment, and dissertation supervision. She is registered with ARB and RIBA as a practicing architect.
