Yana Kucheva is an Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at The City College of New York (CCNY), serving as Interim Chair (2023-2024). She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University's Center on Poverty and Inequality. Her research focuses on housing policy, residential segregation, and environmental justice, particularly examining how U.S. housing policies shape opportunities for families and children. Current work analyzes housing conditions of Latino and African American families in NYC through an environmental/climate justice lens.
