Yan Chen is an Assistant Professor in Instructional Technology and Design at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), affiliated with the Department of Teaching and Learning. She holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s in Chinese Language and Literature from the Minzu University of China. Her research focuses on social interaction in hybrid technology-based learning environments, sociocultural influences on learning, and equitable instructional design. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on integrating technology in education.
