Dr. Yan Chen is a Lecturer in Economics of Project Management at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London. She specializes in the health and environmental impacts of the sharing economy, particularly bike sharing systems, and maintains close industry collaborations with sharing economy firms and real estate developers in Washington D.C., New York City, and Shanghai. Her work integrates environmental cost-benefit analysis, construction management, and strategic frameworks to advance urban sustainability.

She collaborates internationally, including with researchers in Turkey, to apply multi-criteria decision-making frameworks like WASPAS for stakeholder negotiations in urban design.
