Ben Campkin is a Professor of Urbanism and Urban History at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London (UCL), and serves as Vice-Dean for Public and City Engagement at The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment. His academic journey includes a BA in Medieval Archaeology and History of Art (UCL, 1994), an MSc in Built Environment: Architectural History (The Bartlett, 2001), and a PhD in Geography (UCL, 2009). His research focuses on urban regeneration, sustainable cities, and the intersections of architecture, human geography, and cultural studies. He has directed the UCL Urban Laboratory (2011–2018) and played a key role in planning UCL East, a new campus opened in 2022.
