Yakov Lapitsky is a Professor and Department Chair at the Department of Chemical Engineering, The University of Toledo. His research focuses on the design and application of polyelectrolyte-based materials for diverse technological domains.
- Education: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware (2006), B.Ch.E. from the University of Minnesota (2001), and B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota (2001).
Research Interests:
- Self-assembly of surfactant-polyelectrolyte mixtures
- Ionic crosslinking of micro/nanoparticles
- Stimulus-responsive gels and coacervates
- Controlled release systems for pharmaceuticals and environmental technologies
- Physicochemical characterization of smart materials
