Yakiv Bystrov is a Professor and Chair of the Department of English Philology at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. His research focuses on Holocaust literature, autobiographical narratives, cognitive linguistics, and intermedial storytelling. He has authored monographs such as Understanding Fiction: Language and Style in Literary Texts (2014) and English Biographical Narrative in the Scope of Cognitive Linguistics and Synergetics (2016). He currently leads a project at the Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena on Ukraine’s literary legacy of Holocaust survivors.
