معرفی
Yaffa Truelove is an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Colorado's Faculty of International Affairs. Her work bridges urban geography and human-environment relations, focusing on water governance in global South cities like Delhi and Mumbai. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2015) and explores themes such as feminist political ecology, Southern urbanism, and infrastructural violence. Her research emphasizes gendered dimensions of urban infrastructure, particularly water systems, and their socio-political implications. She advises four graduate students and teaches courses on global urbanism, political ecology, and environment-society interactions.
Research Interests
Truelove’s interdisciplinary work analyzes water insecurity, urban infrastructures, and governance in postcolonial cities. She investigates how marginalized groups navigate resource access through everyday practices. Recent projects compare precarious infrastructures across Mumbai, Delhi, and Cape Town, and examine water disruptions in Delhi’s urban politics.
Teaching & Grants
She regularly teaches Cities of the Global South and Political Ecology, integrating her research into pedagogy. Though specific grants are not detailed here, her publications indicate sustained engagement with urban studies and development research.
Labs/Teams Collaborations include global South urban scholars and interdisciplinary teams focusing on water equity and infrastructural justice.
