Yacine Kout

Yacine Kout is Associate Professor in the College of Education at the University of North Georgia. Specializing in critical pedagogy and autoethnography, her research examines innovative approaches to teaching critical thinking and social justice through video gaming.

Dr. Kout teaches courses including Critical/Contemporary Issues in Education, Sociocultural Perspectives on Diversity, and Materials and Methods in ESOL education. Her publications explore the intersection of gaming, education, and social justice in journals including Journal of Autoethnography and Scholastica Vitae.

Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a concentration in Cultural Studies from UNC Greensboro (2019), M.A. in TESOL from Salem College (2010), and B.A. in English from Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle (1999).
