YENNY LEAL MONCADA

Yenny Leal Moncada is a postdoctoral researcher (R2) affiliated with the Nutrition, Eumetabolism and Health research group. Her work focuses on metabolic disorders, diabetes technology, and gut microbiota interactions. She has contributed to major projects like the EU-funded Stratification of Obese Phenotypes (2020-2026) and the IMI-SOPHIA Federated Database initiative.

Research Interests:

• Obesity phenotyping and personalized therapy
• Microbiome-brain-gut axis interactions
• Diabetes technology development (insulin systems, cloud platforms)
• Metabolic biomarker discovery

Key Projects: Principal investigator for 2021's PEPPER safety study and co-investigator in multiple multi-million euro grants addressing metabolic syndrome and precision medicine for MAFLD. Active in federated data initiatives for obesity research.

Technology Contributions: Developed error modeling for glucose sensors and evaluated cloud-based diabetes management systems in Colombia through Tidepool platform studies.
