Xuebin Qin is Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Tulane University, based at the Tulane National Primate Research Center in Covington, LA. His research integrates immunology with translational applications for HIV therapy and cardiovascular disease.

His lab pioneered CD59-targeted inhibitors for HIV therapy, established causal links between membrane attack complex (MAC) formation and atherosclerosis, and developed a universal cell ablation platform using intermedilysin for dissecting immune cell functions in tissue regeneration and disease models.

His laboratory operates within Tulane National Primate Research Center's specialized infrastructure, utilizing transgenic mouse models and nonhuman primate systems to investigate endothelial regeneration, macrophage trafficking, and HIV persistence mechanisms in controlled biosafety environments.
