Xinxiang Li

Xinxiang Li is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Portsmouth, part of the Faculty of Business & Law and School of Accounting, Economics and Finance. He is affiliated with the Centre for Innovative and Sustainable Finance. His research explores political, societal, and cultural influences on management accounting systems within multinational corporations, particularly focusing on Chinese and African contexts. He employs qualitative research methods and emphasizes global expansion dynamics.

Education:

Research Interests: Management accounting control systems, accounting in emerging economies, multinational operations, and critical accounting research. Current focus includes the political role of accounting in Chinese multinational enterprises.

Teaching: Coordinates and teaches Management Accounting modules (Levels 4 and 5), supervises undergraduate/postgraduate dissertations, and offers PhD supervision.
