Dr. Xin Zhou is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health, affiliated with the Department of Biostatistics and Yale Cancer Center's Cancer Prevention and Control division. He holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2015) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Research Interests: Focuses on statistical and machine learning methods in precision medicine, measurement error correction, cluster randomized trials, and high-dimensional data analysis. His work addresses challenges in clinical trials, environmental health, infectious diseases, and cancer research. Key areas include longitudinal data analysis, causal inference, and health system measurement using advanced analytics.
Recent Work: Recent studies include correcting bias in longitudinal exposure data, implementing hardware-based contact tracing for COVID-19, and evaluating tuberculosis care quality in low-resource settings. Collaborations span global health, cancer research, and public health interventions.
Grants & Awards: Led a $4 million grant to implement LGBTQ mental health therapies. Developed software for stepped-wedge trial power calculations (swdpwr package).
Labs/Teams: Active in the Yale Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science. Collaborates with global health organizations on measurement and intervention design.
